Préface à une lecture de Shakespeare, 1920.

A rough, perhaps first, draft of an essay which is chiefly concerned with Measure for measure, presumably in the hand of Guy de Pourtalès, and with many alterations throughout. The manuscript is signed at the end by Pourtalès with the date 17 September 1920, apparently the date of finishing the work. A typescript of this preface is included with the autograph manuscript; it is entitled in autograph of the author: "Préface à une lecture de Mesure pour mesure."

31 leaves ; 28 x 22 cm.
